The humidifier can be mounted on either the supply or return plenum.
When the furnace operates, negative air pressure is created that draws
air from the supply side of the furnace to the return side. This pressure
draws the heated air past the moisture treated Water Panel evaporator,

WORKS
Aprilaire uses nature's own process- the introduction of humidity
through safe, pure water vapor- to add moisture to your dry air. When
your home's humidity falls below the optimum level, Aprilaire goes
to work. Water supplied to the distribution tray flows evenly across
the patented Water Panel evaporator. Thirsty, dry air is forced through
the wetted panel and the newly humidifier air is distributed throughout

through the Water Panel evaporator. The moisture- treated air then
wraps around both sides of the Water Panel and returns through the
